Early in the morning, after breakfast, start driving north, through the Ethiopian central highland, to Guassa Natural Park. Covering over 110 km2 at an altitude of 3,200-3,700m above sea level, Guassa is an important component of the Afro-Alpine habitat of Ethiopia. This natural park is home to the Endemic Ethiopian Wolf and Gelada Baboons and plant species, including Guassa Grass (Festuca), Giant Lobelia, Erica Moorland, Helichrysum, and Alchemilla. Along the way, a photo stop at the scenic Gemassa Gedel also known as “King Menelik’s Window”. It is an Inspiring viewpoint to the lowlands and a great spot for the rare and endemic Ankober Serin bird. Upon arrival at the park, you will be transferred to the community lodge. Then, you commence a hike on the nearby mountain to enjoy the marvelous Guassa Plateau and to see the endemic Ethiopian Wolf which is the area’s flagship mammal is the most endangered canid in the world.
After morning breakfast, start the two hours trek towards Sefed Meda via the unforgettable highland wilderness. Along the trail, you will enjoy the incredible scenery, different bird species, wild plants and see the endemic and the only grazing primates in the world; Gelada Baboons. Arrive at Sefed Meda and meet your driver and then start driving back to Addis Ababa. In the evening, farewell dinner at Ethiopian Cultural Restaurant with cultural dances of different Ethnic groups. Finally, you will be transferred to Bole International Airport or your Hotel.
