Debre Libanos monastery is found 104 km far from the capital Addis Ababa. It is one of the important holy places for the Ethiopian Orthodox church.
The monastery is established in the 13th century by an Ethiopian saint, Saint Tekla Haimanot, a decedent of a line of Solomonic Kings who spread the Ethiopian Orthodox Tewahedo Chruch. The Monastery is famous for its Mosaics and stained-glass windows.
It is one of the monasteries which attracts a lot of Ethiopian pilgrims for the holy waters to be clean from evil spirits and stomach disorders.
