Mystic Sofomar

The cave system at Sof Omar is considered to be the largest in Africa and one of the largest in the world, formed by the Web River as it flows underground. Its passes cover a total of 16 kilometres and v visitors typically go 1.7 kilometres in one hour. The Chamber of Columns, where limestone pillars tower up to 20 meters like in an ancient temple, is one of the cave system’s most stunning features. Another is the Great Dome, which has a 50-meter-high roof. The patterns and colours of the rocks and pillars, together with the sound of the river as it flows through the subterranean corridors, make the tour a one-of-a-kind experience.

A guide, a map, and decent flashlights are all that is required for a better experience of the caves. No other additional equipment is required.
